1Strategy Founder Rich Uhl provides an inside look at cloud education at Amazon; see AWS at scale.
Team development is an important initiative for us; not just for our employees, but for our partners as well. This last week in Seattle 1Strategy, one of our sister companies, hosted an AWS Boot Camp on the Amazon Campus in Seattle. These boot camps were intended to build knowledge of AWS services and provide guidance on best practices for architecting and deploying workloads on AWS. Rich Uhl and Jordan Farrer taught the course, in addition to guest speakers.
Over the course of two days, we covered a general overview of all AWS services, along with Computing (EC2) & load balancing (ELB), Networking (VPC, Connectivity, Route 53), Storage (S3 & Glacier), Database (RDS), Security (IAM), Architecture Best Practices, High Availability & Disaster Recovery, Automation Using Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation), Platform Services (BeanStalk, Lambda, ECS), and DevOps (Code Deploy, CloudTrail, CloudWatch). On day one, Megan O’Neil (Nordstrom) shared her experience with Enterprise Security in AWS as a customer. The intermediate class was able to listen to Harvey Bendana talk about the Nordstrom Public Cloud Team created a Seamless & Secure Hybrid Cloud. Take a look at the photos.
